A note to my clients, past, present and future….. January 2011

I am heartened to discover how many of the viol playing community, including professionals, are taking the early viol seriously – so much so that I have become something of a victim of my own success. As you may know, I am a maker who works alone and largely by hand methods. Whilst I would love to have an apprentice to teach, insure, keep safe and pay, double the size of my workshop and shed thirty years, any of which would speed up the process of making viols, this is not possible. I have, therefore closed my waiting list until such time as I have made inroads into the length of time between the ordering and the making of instruments.
